HitCourt Ladders — Rules & Regulations

Part A — What a HitCourt Ladder Is

A ladder is a standing competition where every player holds one place (a "seat") in an ordered list, and moves up by challenging the players above and beating them. There is no draw and no fixed schedule: players issue challenges, play them within the set time, and the ladder reorders itself after every result. It keeps a club or circuit playing between tournaments, and it gives every player a clear answer to "where do I stand, and who can I play next?"

A Circuit Owner or Referee can run a ladder for any event, on its own or beside the circuit's tournaments. HitCourt keeps the board, the deadlines, the result of every challenge and a full history of every move. The Referee records every result and decides every default. The provisions below are HitCourt's default rules for ladders; those marked ⚙️ may be changed by the Circuit Owner (or the Referee, per ladder) when the ladder is made.
